Waterman said of their top of the range Serenite - The Waterman Serenite pen... it is the purity and calm of an arc of shadow... its only aim is a graceful gesture and beautiful handwriting. Its 18 carat gold nib, overlaid with rhodium, and the matt solid silver trim contrasts with its black body. Curved like a bow or quill, the purity of its line is at one with a gesture and handwriting. The body is curved like a quill, naturally marrying itself to the hand for effortless writing. The Waterman Serenite stands upright open and closed. This is why "WATERMAN" is engraved upright on the nib.

Black resin with sterling silver wide decorated band and accents.

Made by Waterman France c1998. Measures 144mm capped.

Solid 18ct Gold Rhodeum plated nib.  MEDIUM nib in original perfect condition. - may have ben dipped bit but never filled.

Supplied with Waterman converter for bottle filling. Can also take Waterman cartridges, also supplied.

Operation of the pen just couldn't be simpler - hold the wide cap band and turn the barrel anti-clockwise - the nib unit and converter/cartridge is slowly released on its threads and can be removed. Reverse the process to reassemble.

Supplied in blue Waterman fitted case with cartridges and converter in the base. This is not the original Serenite box.

The barrel end is very lightly inscribed 'Specimen.' I understand that these were very early Serenites used in marketing/promotion/advertising prior to the launch. Subsequently the pens had individual serial numbers at the barrel end.

The condition of the pen is 'as new.' Mint condition with no blemishes whatsoever.

The Serenite was always expensive but is now very collectable having been discontinued in 2009.

The more you look at it and handle it, the more you appreciate and like it!
