PARKER MECHANICAL PENCIL
Very rare Parker propel/repel mechanical pencil dating from c1915.
Gold Filled - made in USA - alternating barleycorn and lines pattern. Measures 140mm (5 1/2 ins).
Blank cartouche - no personal engraving. Imprint above the clip 'Parker Pat Pend. USA Gold Filled.'
These pencils were produced as the accompaniment to the fabulous Parker Lucky Curve Gold Filled fountain pens around 1910/20.
The only real reference I can find is that Bonhams sold a set in 2011. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19189/lot/147/?category=list
Both items had a very distinctive pocket clip and ours is exactly the same.

Pencil is in perfect woking order. Propels and repels exactly as it should.
Spare lead in barrel. End piece is a bayonet fitting - push down and twist to take off.
Beautiful condition although there are a couple of minute dings to the barrel and a very slightly larger one at the top of the cone which I have tried to show.
Interestingly the end of the pencil where you would normally expect to see dents is in perfect condition.
In single Parker card box which is obviously not original but looks ok.
A very rare Parker Mechanic Pencil - have never seen one before.
I assumed it was an Eversharp until I looked more closely.
