CONWAY STEWART 266 Fountain Pen        BUTTON FILLER   1930s

Early 266 model, dating to c1932, in black hard rubber which has discoloured to shades of brown which is not unusual.

No attempt has been made to restore to original colour - much prefer to leave as is. Chased barleycorn pattern.

Nickel plated ballend pocket clip - slightly domed black cap stud - bandless cap. Measures 130mm capped.

Barrel imprint 'The Conway Stewart' 'No 266' on second line. Patent No 297194 and Made in England around barrel end.

14ct Gold Conway Stewart nib - FINE nib - writes smoothly.

Button filler - fitted with new sac and good working order.

A small crack at the end of the barrel near the blind cap (pictured) has been professionally repaired. Very strange place to see a crack and not very noticeable now.

No other restoration work has been done to the pen as I prefer the patina which has developed over the years.

The 266 button filler is quite a rare pen, particularly the early model.

There won't be many Conway Stewart collections with one of these.
