NATIONAL SECURITY Fountain Pen    BUTTON FILL

National Security was the brand name of pens produced for, and marketed by, British Carbon Papers of Farringdon, London.
Many English manufacturers produced pens for British Carbon Papers including Conway Stewart, Lang Pen Co of Liverpool and Valentine Pen Co.   Made in a variety of lovely colours and sizes, they are now very collectable.

In beautiful BROWN MARBLE against a black background  with gold plated trim.

Button Filler - Made in England - 1930s - measures 118mm capped.

Single narrow cap band - black domed cap stud and matching blind cap - correct ball end pocket clip.

Crisp barrel imprint with the LION and PEN motif and 'National Security Highest Grade English Manufacture.'

14ct Gold nib stamped 'Warranted 14ct Ist Quality.' Warranted nibs were common on NS pens. 

Semi-flexible nib in excellent condition - smooth MEDIUM.

Button filler - fully serviced - new sac and replacement suspended pressure bar - write tested - perfect working order.

Pen is in very good condition. Some wear to the plated pocket clip but no other blemishes.

The lovely rich dark brown marble was much favoured by National Security.

The quintessential English 1930s button filler.
