The Esterbrook Relief models were made in the UK by Conway Stewart and are excellent quality fountain pens.

This is the 22-L model dating from the 1930s and the smallest pen in the Relief range at the time, measuring 120mm capped.

BLACK Hard Rubber with wavy line pattern and blank cartouche. - gold plated fiitings - domed cap top with red decorative band - 'tear drop' pocket clip stamped 'Relief.'

Clear barrel imprint  ' R Esterbrook & Co RELIEF No 22-L.'  - 'R' logo to filling lever.

Correct 14ct Gold nib stamped -'Relief 14ct 2 Made in England Esterbrook.' Nib in top class condition.

LEFT OBLIQUE (15 degrees) semi-flexible and beautifully smooth. MEDIUM and a delight to write with.

Lever filler - fully serviced at Penworkshop - disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned - new sac fitted - nib smoothed and tuned - hand polished - write tested - perfect working order.

Pen is in super condition - normal usage marks only. There is slight fading of colour which is not unusual with hard rubber pens of the period but it still looks beautiful.

This is one of the Relief models that you don't see very often and a little gem of a pen.

Vintage Reliefs are very collectable pens both in their own right and by Conway Stewart enthusiasts. They are renowned for the quality of the nibs.
