Product Information

DAILY HERALD SET Fountain Pen and Propelling Pencil.

These sets were sold by the newspaper the Daily Herald to their readers in 1935.

There was no makers' name on any of the sets but informed opinion is that that the were probably made in England by WYVERN.

This is a lovely matching set in RED MOTTLE or RED RIPPLE with gold plated trim.

FOUNTAIN PEN - measures 135mm closed - domed cap stud - single narrow cap band - lever filler. Matching mottled section and feed.

14ct Gold nib stamped 'Warranted 14ct 1st Quality.' This appears to be a RIGHT OBLIQUE. It writes OK after a fair bit of smoothing work but is probably a little past its best.

Lever filler - Fully serviced and re-sacced.

PROPELLING PENCIL - matching propel/repel pencil in perfect working order. Takes readily available 1.1mm leads. Two spare leads in barrel.

In multi-coloured card box which is a little on the faded and grubby side. It does however appear to be original - please see

Both pen and pencil are in excellent condition - very lightest of normal usage marks, no cracks, splits or scratches.

Beautiful set. Now quite a rare collector's item.
