CONWAY STEWART 58 Fountain Pen           NEAR MINT!

Beautiful and rare RED HERRINGBONE pattern.  Gold plated trim.

Triple cap bands - black cap stud, black barrel end.

Crisp, like new, barrel imprint 'Conway Stewart 58' first line and 'Made in England' underneath.'

Made in England - 1950s -  measures 130mm (approx 5 1/4") capped.

Correct 14ct Gold nib stamped ' DURO Conway Stewart 14ct Gold 58.'

Nib is in perfect condition and I would doubt whether it has ever been used. Firmish MEDIUM nib, writes very smoothly with good inkflow.

Lever filler - fully serviced, new sac fitted and write tested - perfect working order.

Boxed with guarantee/instructions - box is a bit worn and scuffed but the pen isn't.

Pen is in absolutely superb condition - 60 odd years old and looks just as if it was brand new. Beautiful glossy colouring and gold plated parts are all perfect.This pen has no blemishes whatsoever.

The 58 was one of the top of the range Conway Stewarts of the '50s. Copy of 50s advert below for info.

It was made in a wide variety of colours and patterns including Cracked Ice, Tiger's eye, Herringbone etc. Very collectable.

The Red Herringbone 58 is very sought after and quite rare. Certainly very difficult to find a nicer one than this.
