CONKLIN CRESCENT FILLER No 5 c1906

£395.00

Product Information

CONKLIN CRESCENT FILLER No 5 Fountain Pen.

Have called this the No 5 model but it a little difficult to be certain. It has a No 5 nib which looks original but the imprint at the barrel end which would normally show the model number is unreadable. It measures 136mm capped.

In BLACK chased Hard Rubber which has now discoloured from the original, which is not unusual. Beautifully decorated gold filled wide cap band which has the initials A.G.R.

The combination of the slip-on cap, narrow feed and unstamped crescent would point to a manufacture date of c1906.

Mid-barrel imprint 'Conklin's Self Filling Pen Toledo Ohio' with patent dates. As mentioned above the only part of the barrel end imprint which can be read is 'Trade.'

14ct Gold nib stamped 'Conklin 5 Toledo' with heart shaped breather narrow feed. FINE nib in good condition.

Crescent filler - fitted with new sac and perfect working order. No other restoration work carried out, prefer to leave as is. Has some original nibble (thinking!) marks around cap top.

No cracks or splits.  Cap band excellent. Lock ring good.

Despite the slight discolouration still a superb example of the very early Crescent Filler. Great addition to any vintage pen collection.
