Don't know very much about Black-Star but from my research it seems that they were one of the smaller Italian pen makers.

They seem to be best known for producing quite large pens but this one certainly isn't one of those!

This is a lovely little lady's ringtop or chatelaine dating from the late 1920s/early 1930s.

In beautiful shades of BROWN MARBLE or tortoiseshell.  Twin gold plated cap bands. Measures 95mm (3 3/4") excluding the ring.

Crisp barrel imprint 'BLACK-STAR B 1285. There is also an inscription which I think says 'Turlin L B' - please see pictures.

Pen is fitted with a steel nib stamped 'Durflex FPT 2 Extra'  Durflex were Italian nib manufacturers who produced nibs for other makers so the nib may be original.

Semi-flexible medium nib. Quite worn and a little bit scratchy but I have done my best with it and it writes ok.

Pen has been fully serviced and restored - dismantled and ultrasonically cleaned - new sac, new pressure bar and new brass filler button - hand polished - perfect working order.

This is a little gem of a pen in beautiful colours. Quite rare I think, so hopefully I have priced it reasonably and fairly.

If anyone has information regarding BLACK-STAR pens I would be very pleased to hear from them.
